Volunteer - Be A Life Changer...

Give Your Time To A Camper

You can be a Life Changer by volunteering your time and talents to bring the hope, joy and love of Christ to a student’s life – perhaps for the first time. Your time is such a valuable asset to our ministry and is crucial to providing life-changing experiences at camp for each camper.

Camp Liaisons

Volunteer within your local church to help bring the impact of camp into your community.

  • Recruit Campers: hand out brochures, create a camp display, coordinate a camp sunday, plan a fundraiser, distribute scholarships...

  • Organize Prayer Support: lead prayer times for students who are at camp, pray for the families, write letters and send encouraging emails, provide care packages...

  • Involve Adults: share about counseling opportunities, facilitate scholarship programs for your campers, plan a work group at the camp your students will be attending...

If you need assistance implementing this volunteer position at your church, please contact us.

Volunteer Camp Directors

Impact 2818 Staff work with volunteer directing teams to coordinate the spiritual program, activities, counseling staff and all of the details that make camp great. Directing teams consist of a Spiritual Coordinator/Team Leader, Counseling Staff Coordinator, Activity Coordinator, and Worship Coordinator. Learn more about the Four Leader Model...

Volunteer Camp Counselors

The hands and feet of the camp experience rest in the counselors who are with the campers 24/7. Tangible experiences and processing most effectively happen in the small group setting. These short term communities typically consist of 8-16 campers and 4 volunteer adults (depending on age groups and camper/counselor ratios). The boys and girls of these groups will do everything together, such as: dining as a family unit, sharing in bible studies and discussions, encouraging one another through challenging activities, swimming together, sleeping in the bunk houses and more. Volunteer Behind-the-Scenes:

Not old enough to be a camp counselor yet? Don’t have time to commit an entire week, but would love to help out for a few days? We are always looking for more help at camp, whether it be setting up chairs for evening worship or filling two hundred water balloons for evening games. If you love camp and want to spend a few days serving campers behind-the-scenes, please contact any of our Camp/Program Managers to let them know. (Contact Us)

Work Groups

We are always welcoming churches and groups wanting to assist in work projects at the camp. If you are interested in planning a trip for your team, please contact the Camp Manager of the site you are interested in helping out at. (Contact Us)

High School Camp Cooks

Many of our churches will use the kitchen facilities in their lodges at Epworth Forest CC to prepare the meals for their students and adults. Assist in planning, preparation, and cooking. It's amazing just how much impact the camp cooks have that many would never expect. But, a lot of campers could truly use an "adoptive" parental-type support more than you can imagine.

Volunteer Boat Driver

Come to camp as a boat driver. Each year hundreds of campers at Camp Lakewood and Epworth Forest Conference Center experience the rush of boat tubing made possible by staff and volunteer boat drivers. Drivers serve at camp by using their boating skill and knowledge to provide campers with a safe and thrilling boat tubing experience. The volunteer boat driver can enjoy complimentary housing and meals at Camp Lakewood or Epworth Forest CC If you are interested in serving as a boat driver at one of our camps please contact that camp's Program Manager. Training, orienteering and some requirements will need to be met. The camp will follow up by sending you specific requirements for their program. (Contact Us)

Donating a Boat

Support Camp Lakewood and Epworth Forest CC by putting to good use a seldom used or available ski boat this next summer. Ski boats are used each week at these camps as part of the afternoon boat tubing activity. Donating a boat for one, three, or more weeks is a great way to use resources for furthering the kingdom. The boat donor can expect the camp chosen to have boat insurance during time of the boat’s use and secure mooring while not on the lake.
